and forth- but this weekend the state
legislature has passed a final
resolution hoping to settle the slavery
issue once and for all.

VO-NAT In the final version of the


resolution, it acknowledges profound
regret for the involuntary servitude of
Africans and the exploitation of Native
Americans.

reconciliation among all Virginians.

That's different from the first
version which called for atonement for
slavery.

Some lawmakers feared issuing
atonement would be the first step
towards reparations.

The resolution passed unanimously
in the House.

Hepatitis A.

Two children there have developed
the virus.

In a letter, the health officials
say, Hepatitis A is easily transmitted
among young children, especially those
in diapers. That's because the virus is
spread through an infected person's
stool.

They are giving treatment to all of
the individual who are at risk. Health
officials says this in not health

concern for the general public.

A snowstorm moved through the
nation's midsection last night,
creating hazardous conditions in
Kansas.

In Goodland, Kansas, snow was the
big problem.

About three inches fell, but
combined with high winds, it appeared
to be a blizzard.

Snow drifts in the area are
reportedly up to a foot deep!

The Interstate had to be shutdown
in both directions, and several motels
are filled to capacity.

Dozens of people were injured
Saturday afternoon when several
tornadoes pounded parts of southern
Arkansas.

Residents in Dumas, Arkansas
described a five-mile-long, half-mile
wide path of damage near the rural
community.

The Arkansas National Guard is
headed to the area and the police say
that some residents remain unaccounted
for.

The tornadoes were part of the
same powerful storm system which is
bringing blizzard conditions to the
Midwest.

after hosting and playing at a charity
high school basketball game yesterday.

The former Missouri player

reportedly went to his high school
coach's house after the game.

That where Nash collapsed.

He was taken to the hospital
where he was pronounced dead.

The charity game benefited the
Darris Nash Find-A-Heart Foundation.

The foundation raises money for
heart transplant research.

Nash's brother received a heart
transplant last month.

Investigators believe the fire
started from a downed power line.

Crews had been keeping an eye on

burned just 3 acres but it's intenses
flames and quick moving nature made it
challenging for fire fighters.

At one point coming within 50
yards of this home.

HAD IS DUE TO THE WIND EVENT. TYPICALLY
UNDER THE STRONG WINDS THAT WE HAVE HAD
SINCE THURSDAY. POWER LINE FIRES ARE
MORE FREQUENT AND COMMON.

low humidity and warm temperatures have
been the ideal recipe for these type
fires.

Local departments have also been
responding to their share of smaller
brush burns.

This is the first major one of
the season for Roanoke County.

They know that could change at
