overturned this morning on Route 220
north of Roanoke.

We are just one week away from
the start of the ACC men's tournament
and in case you haven't heard both
Virginia Tech and UVA are tied for
first place in the conference with
North Carolina.
It has been once crazy year in
the ACC.
As we get ready to play the final
week of the regular season there has
been - and to this point still exists
more parity than ever in the
conference.
Eight of the leagues 12 teams
have been ranked at least one week this
season.

As we get ready for the
tournament next week - remember that
UVA plays host to the Hokies this
Thursday night at seven.
If Tech can win out - the Hokies
will be crowned regular season champs.
Already the Hokies and Cavs have
locked down first round byes in the ACC
tournament.
By the way - Tech is back in the
Top 25 this week at number 21 in both
the Associated Press and coaches'
polls. UVA is ranked 25th this week in
the coaches' poll.

GRAPHIC=Basketball The Big South Men's Tournament
gets underway tommorrow. First Round
Games are being played at the Home
Arenas of the 4 Top Seeds. That
includes V-M-I visiting Liberty at the
Vines Center for a 7 o'clock tip-off.
The Match-up between the Flames
and Keydets will feature 2 First Team
Big South Players as announced today by
the Conference.

VO-NAT Liberty's Larry Blair is on the
first team after averaging 20 points
for the Flames this season and leading
them to a 3rd place finish in the
Conference.
V-M-I's Reggie Williams is also
on the First Team, all Williams did was
lead all of Division 1 in scoring with
almost 29 points a game.
Another Keydet Travis Holmes was
named the Conference's Defensive Player
of the Year. He is the First Keydet to
ever win the award.
The Big South Coach of the Year
goes to Cave Spring Graduate Gregg
Marshall, who led Winthrop to an
undefeated season in the Big South at
14 and 0. This is the 4th time that
Marshall has won the Award.

professional genealogists discovered a
link between Sharpton and Strom
Thurmond. It turns out Sharpton's
great-grandfather was reportedly a
slave owned by Julia
Thurmond, whose grandfather was Strom

Sharpton says the results couldn't
reveal "anything more shocking" than
what he's already learned.
