One of the Floyd County boys
fighting cancer lost the battle
yesterday afternoon....

VO-NAT Joshua Cantrell was taken off

life support Sunday evening and we're
told the family shared some special
moments with him before he died.

Obviously a very sad turn
for all who knew and supported Josh

throughout his treatment.

But the group, Same Fight,
dedicated to helping raise awareness
and funds for the boys will go
on.......that's because Chance Harman
is still undergoing treatment.

Joshua's Grandfather, Alan
Cantrell is the Head Coach of the Floyd
County Girls Basketball Team...they
have dedicated their season to the boys
and right now, they are undefeated.

The Lady Buffalos have supported
their Coach and his family, and will
try to continue their season this
Friday when they play a State
Quarterfinal Game against J-J Kelly at
Christiansburg High School.

in front of the jury.

Even after Commonwealth's
Attorney Chris Rehak opened saying this
murder case is not about science rather
human nature and Gutersloh's loose
lips.

The state plans to present
evidence that Gutersloh told two
friends and a co-worker that he indeed
kill Pleasants.

their Coach and his family and will try
to continue their season this Friday

has recommended a two cent
increase....from 39 to 41 cents.

The commission is also urging the
post office to establish a so called
"forever stamp"....which means, if it
happens....you don't have to keep
buying those two or three cent stamps.

It would not show a denomination

letters permanently...even if the rates
go up.

The stamp would only cost

One of the Floyd County boys
fighting cancer lost the battle
yesterday afternoon....

Gutersloh is accused of killing 23-
year old Radford University student

Lori Pleasants,

Her body was found by friends in
her apartment in June of 2000.

In opening statements yesterday,
the Commonwealth's Attorney said this
case is not about science but about
human nature and loose lips.

The state plans to present
evidence that Gutersloh told two
friends and co-worker that he indeed
killed Pleasants.

However, defense attorneys say
the case is all about science and it
excludes Gutersloh.

Gutersloh is also charged with
defiling a corpse.

Yesterday, the medical examiner
took the stand and said the crime scene
appeared staged....and that her wrists
were cut after death.

1995, an estimated 1-point-3 million
cats, dogs, and other animals have been
spayed or neutered.

That fact means millions of
animals lives have been saved as well
as potentially millions tax dollars.

Spay New River Valley is a
collaboration of local humane
organization working to reduce the
number of homeless pets in the NRV and
has set a goal of 28-spays in 28-days.

today in Radford... 30- year old
William Joseph Gutersloh is accused of
killing 23- year old Radford University
student Lori Pleasants. Her body was
found by friends in her apartment in
June of 2000.
