together last night to remember Joshua
Cantrell.
The 3-year-old died Monday after
two-month battle with a brain tumor.

Hundreds crowded into Floyd
County High School for a memorial
service.
The service was full of plenty of
tears, but also a lot of laughter. His
dad recalled Joshua's infectious smile.
He may have lost his fight, but
family members are relieved their
little boy is no longer in pain. Joshua
will be buried Friday during a private
service.
There's also another small boy
from Floyd County who has a similar
brain tumor. We're told Chance Harman
is doing ok.
Fundraising efforts will
continue. So far, the community has
helped to raise nearly a $150,000.

Living center after a resident came
down with an infectious disease.
We understand this affects residents
and employees at Eastwood Assisted
Living which is owned by the Friendship
Retirement Community.

saying the decision to test people was
made after learning from the Virginia
Department of Health that an Eastwood
resident who died recently in the
hospital had group A streptococcus.

for the V-D-H wasn't able to confirm
the information, or offer any details
on the letter, and says the
investigation is ongoing.
When we contacted Friendship
Manor we were told to call back this
morning.
Group A streptococcus is a
bacterium that is spread through
personal contact -- it's the same bug
that causes strep throat -- and can
sometimes lead to "flesh eating"
bacteria.

Manor's Lakeview Assisted Living
facility came down with Group A strep
back in 20-05 -- and at least two
people died then.
Most of those infections came
from a single unit -- and all residents
and employees were tested or treated.

sodomizing a four-year old child.

County men were indicted by a grand
jury for allegedly abusing children.

was charged with six-felony counts for
alledgedly molesting an underaged girl.
He's held without bond in the
Botetourt County jail.
Meanwhile, restaurant owner
Sidney "Arnold" Harry was indicted on
felony abuse charges.

Bread Basket is accused of molesting a
teenaged boy for nearly six-months.
Harry is scheduled for a June
14th jury trial.

against 30 year old William Gutersloh
yesterday evening.
But not before three former
friends of the defendant testified that
he told them he killed Lori Pleasants.

apartment six years ago.
Police say he cut her wrists
after she was dead to make it look like
suicide.
