brush fire out there is under control.

Flames sparked yesterday in a
remote area West of Stuart and burned
-we're told - about 175 acres.

Investigators say a campfire
caused the fire.

They located the individuals
responsible and they did confess.

Investigators say those
individuals will have to pay for the

Around nine this morning officers
acted on a 9-1-1 call tip on Abbott
Street.

When they arrived, they found
90-year-old Philip Petty lying in his
driveway .

He was pronounced dead at the
scene.

Petty's body will be sent to
Roanoke for an autopsy tomorrow.

near Longwood University that killed
two people and injured four others.

Two current and two former
students were among those hurt..

School officials say they are
awaiting the identification of the

fatalities from the medical examiner.

bad day to be flying U-S Airways.

Thousands of its passengers
suffered through long delays at
Charlotte-Douglas Airport because of a
computer

glitch that kept them from checking in
using self-service

kiosks.

The airline told people to start
going home because the chances of
booking a later flight was slim to
none.


Long lines were also reported
in Philadelphia and Boston.

down off the track. The Daytona 500
winner has had a whirlwind of
interviews and talk show appearances
since winning the Great American Race

at Bristol to talk about the
