Bassett furniture announced
today it's cutting 15-percent of its
workforce.

across much of Virginia... meaning the
danger of brush fires was extremely
high.

when at least two separate brush and
grass fires took off.

This one, near the Ashley
Plantation Golf Course, scorched a
large area of grass.

Firefighters battled
another fire on Shavers Farm Road.

Neither fire damaged any
homes.

fire that killed two people near
Longwood University over the weekend.

rescue three people from the burning
home, but another Longwood student and

cases of group-A Strep.

A total of 178 residents
and employees of Friendship Retirement
Community have now been tested.

experiencing any symptoms and are now

being treated with antibiotics.

The situation first came to
light last week when a former resident
of Eastwood, who had died, was found to

Poster-child for all Cindarella's when
it came to the N-C-A-A Tournament. The

Patriots crashed the party, going all
the way to the Final Four.

A year ago, Mason got in as an
at-large team, if they wanted to go
back to the field of 65 they would need
to beat V-C-U in the Finals of the
C-A-A Tournament.

The Rams though showed why they

suprises as to who is on the first
team.

Jared Dudley of Boston College,
North Carolina's Tyler Hansbrough and
Florida State's Al Thornton were all
unanimous selections.

The Fourth Player on the team is
a repeat member.- UVA's Sean
Singletary, the Junior guard averaged
19 points a game while also providing
leadership and running the Wahoo
Offense.

His backcourt mate, Roanoke's
J.R. Reynolds, just missed out on the
first team, he garnered the most votes
of the 5 players on the Second Team.

J.R. made the most of his Senior
Season averaging 18 points a game.

Two Hokies were also honored.
Zabian Dowdell joins Singletary on the
first team. He was the final member to
make the top 5 as he averaged 18 points
in his final campaign in Blacksburg.

His running mate Jamon Gordon was
selected to the all-ACC third team
after leading the conference in steals.

Right behind him was Zabe in that
category, and as a result the 2 were
both named to the exclusive five man
all-ACC defensive team.

that his nose was broken.

and Hansbrough is being fitted for a
custom made protective mask. And he
should be ready to play for the A-C-C
Tournament.

Henderson meanwhile will be
