of its 178 workers by April.

Also, Dutailier

On Monday, Bassett Furniture said
it will close the plant that produces
it's bedroom line - 280 employees out
of job by this summer.

Across the street from the plant
one restaurant owner says she already

This Season Dave Leitao, the second year :00 Virginia coach received 64 votes from

the Atlantic Coast Media members to
easily outdistance Gary Williams of
Maryland and Tech's Seth Greenberg for
the honor.

Leitao took a guard dominated
team that was picked to finish no
better than 8th in the ACC this season
and ended up tied for first place in
the regular season.

He is the first Virginia coach to
receive the award since Terry Holland
in 1982. Holland also received the
award in 1981 and Bill Gibson was
honored in 1972.

Leitao will lead Virginia into
it's ACC opener on Friday night against
the winner of the Duke - N.C. State
game.
