man found dead over the weekend
accidentally drowned.

Officers found 45-year-old
John Lewis Sloan in Masons Creek Sunday
morning.

Police found nothing to
suggest foul play and a medical

as accidental drowning. **

book on what was at first called a
suspicious death over the weekend.

Investigators now say
90-year-old Phillip Petty died of
hypothermia.

year this afternoon, and his teammate
Zabian Dowdell came in second in the
voting.

Both members of the Hokies Senior
Backcourt hail from the State of
Florida.

Zabian is from Pahokie and Jamon
is from Jacksonville.

Both are anxious to get back home
this week.

ready to host four days of non-stop
basketball as the State Tournaments
shift to central Virginia for the Final
Fours.

Six classifications will crown
champions before the week is over.

7 schools from southwest and

central Virginia are in the tournament
including Altavista, James River,
Hidden Valley, Fleming and George
Washington on the boys' side, and Floyd
County and Hidden Valley on the girls
side.

Mike McGuire has the Titans'
girls back in the final four in what is
just his first season as Hidden
Valley's head coach.

awakening this morning-- from a SEMI.

Three people from the Joseph family
were home around 5 A-M, when they heard
the truck slam into their house.

One family member says it sounded
like an earthquake, and the whole house
started shaking.

No one inside the house was hurt.

The truck driver was taken to the
hospital with minor injuries.
