weekend accidentally drowned.

That's the ruling of a state

medical examiner, according to Roanoke
County police.

Officers found the body of
45-year-old John Lewis Sloan in Masons
Creek Sunday morning.

They did not find any signs
of foul play.

Danville police have also
ended their investigation into what was
believed to be a suspicious death.

Investigators say 90-year-old
Phillip Petty died of hypothermia
Sunday morning.

and ended up tied for first place in

Leitao, who is known for his

League state basketball tournament
opens a four day run in Richmond this
Wednesday - college coaches from all
over the country will be inside the
Siegel Center checking out the talent.

One one those is Ferrum women's
coach Bryan Harvey.

He'll not only be there scoping
out the talent but also acting a bit
like a proud poppa.

Before taking over the Ferrum
program two years ago - Harvey coached
no less than 7 girls from the current
Hidden Valley and Floyd County teams
played in the Roanoke Stars AAU
program.

At South Carolina Steve Spurrier
has barred quarterback Stepehen Garcia
from spring practice. Garcia was
arrested Saturday and accused of
damaging a professor's car with a key.
Last month, the 19-year-old was

arrested and charged with drunkenness
and failing to stop for a police
officer.

Plus, at the University of Miami
- new head coach Randy Shannon has zero
tolerance policy for guns. If you get
caught with a firearm, you're kicked
out of school, not just off the team.
