But yesterday, a retired teacher
got his own lesson in the law.

pleaded guilty in an Ohio court room to
six counts of felony rape and six
counts of gross sexual imposition.

Utin taught math and science at
Blacksburg Middle School for 35 years.

He may soon face charges in

Appomattox County High School last
night to celebrate the lives of Ed
Cunningham and Byron Jamerson.

The two died over the weekend in
a house fire in Farmville.

living life to the fullest. They
enjoyed surfing, playing the guitar,
and riding four wheelers.

While the night was meant to
remember Cunningham and Jamerson, the

for rescuing three people from the
burning house.

closer to getting back on its feet.
Last year, the zoo was put on notice.

They either had to make some changes or
lose accreditation.

fundraising.

Jack Hanna was in Roanoke
yesterday to tell supporters and city
leaders just how much potential Mill
Mountain Zoo has.

This is actually his fourth trip
to the Star City.

He says if you care about the
future, you should care about the zoo.

Those who attended the fundraiser
were able to bid on paintings and
sculptures of Ruby the Tiger.

city students-

The team from Breckenridge Middle
won the National competition in June in
Dallas- now they're headed to worlds in
Australia.

The students put the cars to the

The team will represent the U-S
in the world competition next week..
against 19 teams from around the world.

They're judged not just on how
fast the car goes.. but on its design
and the presentation- the students must
give before a panel of international
judges.

The car is made out of balsa wood
and is light.. weighing about half as
much as a typical cell phone.

Christiansburg Police crack a
decade-old rape case.

VO-NAT Wednesday night, police arrested


this man, 42 year-old Argle Lee Hall of
Christansburg.

Police say he raped the SAME
victim twice, once in 1994 and again in
1996.

The case went unsolved until new
information came to light a few days
ago.

Police have not said what the new
information is.

Hall is being held in the
Montgomery County Jail without bond.

He's charged with breaking and
entering, rape, abduction and forcible

sodomy.

re-opened almost 23 years after the
crime was committed in Nelson County.

proved his innocence.

Now authorities are focusing on Michael
Nicholaou NICK-allow - -a man who
killed his wife and stepdaughter, then
himself in 2005.

Honaker is skeptical that investigators
can link Nicholaou to the crime, though
he's intrigued by something Nicholaou
said after being acquitted on obscenity
charges.

charged with leading Amherst County
authorities on a high-speed chase
through two jurisdictions yesterday
morning.

A witness spotted them breaking
into cars in the Madison Heights area
and gave police a description of their
car.

Authorities say they chased the car
at speeds of more than 100 miles per
hour, but called it off when the
suspects started driving southbound in
the northbound lanes of the Route 29
Bypass.

The chase ended on a dead-end
street in Lynchburg where police
discovered the suspects' car had stolen
Virginia tags bolted on top of its
original Florida plates.
