County yesterday morning is back in
custody.

Authorities say 46-year-old Eric
Beard is behind bars after disappearing
at a bus stop in Wythe County.

At one point he was thought to
have boarded another bus to
Winston-Salem.

Beard is an Ohio fugitive and is
wanted for violating parole.

He was considered dangerous.

attractions is getting a little bigger.

Association yesterday.

The target....to raise 20
thousand dollars for local services.

But, it was a record breaking
year and the group topped 34 thousand
dollars.

Residents on Australia's
northwest coast prepared on Saturday
for a second powerful cyclone as
emergency crews began mopping up after
a storm which killed two people.

Cyclone George slammed into a
remote mining construction camp late
Thursday, killing a woman and injuring
22 others who were sheltering inside a
building that rolled over in gale force
winds.

A second person was killed at a
nearby ranch.

Forecasters rated George as a
Category 4 storm.

Winds tore buildings apart and
mangled fences. Many power outages
were reported as well.

The Bureau of Meteorology warned
that the second storm, Category 3
Cyclone Jacob, was heading for the same
stretch of coast and could hit land
late on Sunday.

The bomb targeted a truck
carrying Shiite pilgrims back from a
major religious ceremony.

10-MILLION DOLLARS bond after police
say she killed her two small children.

19-year-old Valerie Lopez is in a
San Antonio jail facing capital murder
charges.

Investigators say she confessed
to murdering her six-month old son
Sebastian and 18-month old daughter
Sariyah sari-yah.

The children's bodies were found
wrapped in plastic under the family's
home by neighbors who were
investigating a foul-smell.

Lopez told police she beat her
daughter to death and accidentally
rolled over her son.

The woman's boyfriend has also
been charged.

for a woman who stole a newborn out of

a Texas hospital yesterday.

surveillance video of the woman they
believe abducted the little girl.

They say this woman posed as a
hospital employee and then tucked the
child in her purse.

She's described as being in her

underweight, jaundiced and in need of
medical attention.

yesterday in the swamps of St. Charles
Parish also inhabited by crocodiles,
misquitos and a host of other animals.

The 47-year-old fisherman says he
survived by drinking swamp water from a
gas-can he used to stay afloat.

Adams had been missing for nine
days and is now being treated at an
area hospital.

about a bill that recently passed the

In 80 percent of boating
accidents, the driver hasn't had
