controversial online data base that
listed all concealed Weapon Permit
Holders in the state.

details. Justin first of all, how did
this all come about?

Natasha, the Roanoke Times says it
started off innoncently enough.

The paper wanted to highlight the
importance of open government and
public records but in the process the
Times angered a lot of gun owners.

VO NAT This all started with an editorial
that ran Sunday in the New River Valley
Current.

The writer wanted to show how
difficult it is sometimes to obtain
public information. For example, who
has a concealed handgun permit.

But the paper went a step further and
a put link on the web that listed all
concealed weapon permit holders in
Virginia.

The paper decided to remove the
online database because it included
names that should NOT have been
released.

after a two-car crash in Lynchburg late
this afternoon.

the intersection of Concord Turnpike
and Pleasant Valley Road.

Police say it appears a pickup
truck ran a stop sign and collided with
another car.

The driver of the truck was trapped
underneath the vehicle ... they were
pronounced dead at the scene.

Names of the victims have not been
released.

The intersection was closed for
more than two hours while police
investigated the crash.

heads..how a woman went from teacher of
the year in Carroll County to a
convicted molestor.

VO-NAT Former Wythe County teacher, 42

year old Karen Susan Patton, was found
guilty of two counts of carnal
knowledge and one count of non-forcible
sodomy.

and was at one point a teacher of the
year in Carroll County.

Prosecutors say Patton molested
two 13 year old boys in her home in

January of 2006 and August of 2004.

She will remain out on bond,

believe a stolen car that was
intentionally set on fire sparked the
wildfire southeast of Los Angeles.

here in the region.

Liberty University's board of
trustees authorized a six million
dollar buyout of W-D-R-L T-V.

The station would televise

preachers.

Falwell says the studio will
eventually be moved to Lynchburg, but
first the sale must be approved by the

women's tournament field was announced
tonight and as expected neither
Virginia Tech nor UVA made the field.

Six ACC teams got in including
Maryland, Duke, UNC, N.C. State,
Florida State and Georgia Tech.

The state did get two teams in
the tourney in Old Dominion and James
Madison.

The JMU Dukes are 27 and 5 and
seeded 9th.

If the Dukes beat Pittsburgh in
their opener - they will likely play
the Lady Vols of Tennessee..

Communist leaders are worried
what the world will see when the
Olympics heads to Beijing in 2008.

So, a government appointed Miss
Manners is trying to bring etiquette to
the masses in order to cut down on
things like spitting, nose picking and

public urination.

The newly appointed "office for
orderly bus riding" has also sent out
thousands of so called "civility
supervisors" to enforce better behavior
from travelers.

Leaders say manners are slowly
getting better, but there's still
plenty of room for improvement.

Lemon Bay High School teacher
Jason Brenner has a role in a stage
production of "The Full Monty."

The role will require Brenner to
appear naked for the final scene of the
show.

Unhappy with the idea, school
leaders told the part-time teacher he
could either quit the show or quit the
classroom.

Brenner says he is a performer
first and a teacher second.

So he'll be handing in his
resignation.
