20 cents in the last two weeks.
And Triple A estimates the price
of self serve regular could climb
another ten to fifteen cents before
Memorial Day.

controversial online data base that
listed all concealed Weapon Permit
Holders in the state.

that ran Sunday in the New River Valley
Current.
The writer wanted to show how
difficult it is sometimes to obtain
public information. For example who
has a concealed handgun permit.
But the paper went a step further and
a put link on the web that listed all
concealed weapon permit holders in
Virginia.

Campbell County says it's confident the
measure will withstand any legal
challenge.

A non-profit legal firm that
handles environmental issues has drawn

meeting was held in Boone's Mill last
night.
The buzz is the police chief
might be out of a job.

not comment on the issue other than to
say it was a personnel matter.
But according to Police Chief
Lynn Frith, it's a personal matter that
concerns, her, him and Hogan's husband

between the three for months, but it
finally came to a head two weeks ago
when the mayor ordered him to crack
down on speeders along 2-20.
The chief said in doing so, one
of the first people he caught flying
down the highway was the mayor's

intends to buy a financially troubled
T-V station here in the region.
Liberty University's board of
trustees authorized a six million
dollar buyout of W-D-R-L T-V.
The station would televise
Liberty's religious and sporting
events, along with shows from
nationally- known conservative
preachers.
Falwell says the studio will
eventually be moved to Lynchburg, but
first the sale must be approved by the
U-S bankruptcy court and the F-C-C.

GRAPHIC=Shooting Two men were injured in a
shooting in Danville last night.
Police responded to reports of
shots fired in the 500 block of Worsham
Street at around seven o'clock.
Nearby, on North Main Street, the
officers found two men suffering from
gunshot wounds while sitting in a
parked car. Both men were taken to the
hospital. One underwent surgery. The
other sustained non-life threatening
injuries.

after a two-car crash in Lynchburg.

It happened a little before 5
o-clock yesterday afternoon at the
intersection of Concord Turnpike and
Pleasant Valley Road.
Police say 32-year-old Jesse Lee
Doss the Third of Madison Heights died
when his Chevy pickup collided with a
Jeep Liberty.
A person in the Jeep was taken to
the hospital with non-life-threatening
injuries.
The accident remains under
investigation and anyone who may have
seen what happened is urged to contact
the Lynchburg police.

pleaded no contest to molesting two
former students.

VO-NAT 47 year old Karen Susan Patton
was found guilty of two counts of
carnal knowledge and one count of
non-forcible sodomy.

File Middle School in Wytheville for a year
and was at one point a teacher of the
year in Carroll County.
Prosecutors say Patton molested
two 13 year old boys in her home in
January and August of 2006.
She will remain out on bond,
until she is sentenced in June.

from federal officials.
They are reducing the money the
agency must reimburse by 600- thousand
dollars.

A recent audit revealed serious
violations of federal procurement
regulations. The Department of Housing
and Urban Development found problems
with a number of contracts the housing
authority awarded.
Asked to reconsider the penalty,
HUD has reduced the reimbursement to
one point three million dollars. And
further review of a contract for legal
services could reduce that amount even
more.
