online database.

This comes after the newspaper
took a lot of "heat" from gunowners.

So much so, employees even posted the
Roanoke Times editorial on the cash
register.

River Valley Current.

In it, the writer highlighted the
difficulty of obtaining public
information, for example, who has a
concealed handgun permit.

But the paper went a step further and
created an online database that
included a list everyone in the state
who has a concealed permit.

The database angered a lot of

message board on the Roanoke Times
website.

Some even posted the address of the
writer who wrote the editorial.

There were also calls to boycott the
paper's advertisers.

By the end of the day, the Times
released a statement to News 7 saying
the list included names that should not
have been released.

at a nursing home in Mocksville, North
Carolina sent several people to the
hospital.

The man the Army put out in front to
answer for the poor conditions and

the bureaucratic mess at Walter Reed is
out of a job.

During his appearance on Capitol Hill
last week, one senator read an

e-mail from a soldier at Walter Reed,
accusing Army Surgeon General

Kevin Kiley of knowing about the
hospital�s problems and doing nothing

to fix them.

MCCASKILL we as injured veterans and
those family members who depend on

military medical facilities deserve
nothing less than the resignation of

general kiley.

Kiley has handed in that resignation..
making him the third top man to

go in the scandal over poor treatment
at the army�s flagship hospital.

Defense secretary Robert Gates demanded
that the commander of Walter

Reed be relieved of duty and fired the
Secretary of the Army. The new

secretary, Peter Geren, forced Kiley
into retirement.

A new CBS News New York Times Poll
shows Americans are not at all happy

with the way the government is treating
Iraq war veterans.

percent said NO.

Several new initiatives have been
launched to turn this situation

night.

The buzz is the police chief
might be out of a job.

say it was a personnel matter.

But according to Police Chief
Lynn Frith, it's a personal matter that
concerns, her, him and Hogan's husband

finally came to a head two weeks ago
when the mayor ordered him to crack
down on speeders along 2-20.

pleaded no contest to molesting two
former students.

was found guilty of two counts of
carnal knowledge and one count of
non-forcible sodomy.

intersection of Concord Turnpike and
Pleasant Valley Road.

Police say 32-year-old Jesse Lee
Doss the Third of Madison Heights died
when his Chevy pickup collided with a
Jeep Liberty.

A person in the Jeep was taken to
the hospital with non-life-threatening
injuries.

The accident remains under
investigation and anyone who may have
seen what happened is urged to contact

the Lynchburg police.

During his appearance on Capitol Hill
last week, one senator read an

e-mail from a soldier at Walter Reed,
accusing Army Surgeon General

Kevin Kiley of knowing about the
hospital�s problems and doing nothing

to fix them.

Kiley has handed in that resignation..

Reed be relieved of duty and fired the
Secretary of the Army. The new

secretary, Peter Geren, forced Kiley
into retirement.

shooting in Danville last night.

Police responded to reports of
shots fired in the 500 block of Worsham
Street at around seven o'clock.

Nearby, on North Main Street,
authorities say the officers found two

men suffering from gunshot wounds while
sitting in a parked car.

Both men were taken to the
hospital. One underwent surgery. The
other sustained non-life threatening
