local high schools.

There's one producation in
particular that's had plenty of drama
and we're not talking about the plot.

absolutely have no money.

the theatre department at William

Fleming High School.

This weekend, the students will
perform the hit Broadway Show Aida.

But making it to the stage wasn't
easy since the school system completely
cut the departments budget, a total of
nearly seven thousand dollars.

resigned in the wake of an ongoing feud
between her and the police chief.

According to Chief Lynn Frith,

the two did not see eye to eye on how
best to run the town.

husband - councilman Robert Hogan.

violated his plea deal.

old Verlyn Brady driving his car in
downtown Hillsville last Friday.

Dalton on Route 52 back in 1953.

He admitted to the crime last
summer before having open heart

a Miami jury has recommended in the
case of John Couey.

abducting, raping, and killing nine
year old Jessica Lunsford in 2005.

The jury deliberated for about an
hour before returning the 10 to 2 vote.

It will still be up to a circuit

He's not bound by the jury's
recommendation....but is required to
give it "great weight".

rescues...but this next one had even
the experts puzzled...

Yesterday This young girl got her hand
stuck inside an A-T-M.

Now the machines aren't meant to
come apart easily...so rescue crews had
to call an A-T-M repair tech to figure
out how to dismantle it.

The ordeal lasted more than three

worst..that her hand might have been
severed.

But after dismantling the
machine....and a little soap....the
girl's hand was finally freed.

Last Week Overall the facility that holds 7 :00 thousand 5-hundred fans worked well for
the Tourney.

But, by the time Championship
Saturday rolled and 6 games had to be
played back to back, one of those
involving a local team from Richmond.
Things began to go wrong.

Tickets were sold on a general
admission basis so somebody could

literally watch 1, 3, 4 or even 6
games.

And that's exactly what a lot of
people did.

Fans did not leave when their
game was over, leaving others outside
the arena, with a ticket, standing in
line and unable to get in and see any
of the games.

This problem affected a number of
Danville, Hidden Valley and William
Fleming fans.

Another concern especially for

the schools is the cost of getting
their team, students, cheerleaders and
band members to the tournament.

The estimated cost is $10,000 per
school.

Hidden Valley Principal Rhonda
Stegall had to double that to $20
thousand as the Titans had both the
boys and Girls playing in Richmond.

Currently, the Virginia High
School League only compensates teams $1
per mile.

By the way - the tournament will
stay in Richmond through 2015.
