that former Radford star and current
High Point assistant Don Burgess
interviewed with members of the search

The Harrisonburg native has been

years.

Burgess graduated from Radford in
1995 after a playing career that saw
him score nearly 15 hundred points and
earn first team all-Big South Honors.

He is said to have the backing of

New North Carolina head football
coach Butch Davis was visitiing his
dentist late last month in Cleveland
for a routine cleaning when a growth
was discovered in his mouth. The
growth was removed, and a biopsy
diagnosed it as non-Hodgkins lymphoma.

More tests found no evidence that the
cancer has spread, but Davis says he is
undergoing chemotherapy as a
precaution.

He had his first two-hour session
last week, and will have between three
and six more chemo treatments.

Tufts vs. Roanoke Roanoke tried to regroup after a :00 difficult loss to Dickinson in overtime
during the past weekend. So the need
to start off fast against the Jumbos

was important. They did just that by
winning the faceoff and racing down the
field where Jon Mason would dump it off
to freshman Pat March for the quick
strike.

The number 15 team in the nation
would not go away though. Even with a
man down Mike Cortese went the length
of the field dodging 4 defenders
passing it off and getting it back to
slip it by the goalie. In all he beat
8 defenders to net the goal.

Maroons would respond with a
streak of goals - none better than Jon
Mason's no look pass to Billy Cameron
for the one timer. *CG final Tufts
