embankment ends in the death of two
people.

It happened this afternoon along
Route 24 in the Stewartsville
area.....Police believe the driver ran
off the side of the road, overcorrected
and ran down the embankment. Both
people in the car died, no other cars
or people were involved in the
accident. Their names have not been
released.
Both lanes of Virginia 24 were
blocked for hours in the accident area
but have since been reopened.

after a train derailment.

morning on CSX property in the downtown
area.
No was injured no one had to be
evacuated.
The train was heading east from
Hinton, West Virginia to Clifton Forge.
The train was carrying about 60
cars in all.. 17 cars that were
carrying grain derailed.
A section of Lexington Avenue in
downtown Covington will remain closed
until the clean up is done.

NASA today released
never-before-seen images that show the
sun's magnetic field is much more
turbulent and dynamic than previously
known.
An international spacecraft took the
images.
It was launched three years ago to
study the explosive nature of the sun's
magnetic field.
It's hope the images will teach us
more about the way the sun effects the
climate, astronauts, and orbiting
satellites.

department sank before it could even
make its first call today.

The 385-thousand dollar,
state-of-the-art vessel was discovered
with its back end on the river bottom
and the front end sticking up out of
the water.
Investigators were trying to
determine the cause.
A spokeswoman says the fire
department had yet to take ownership
of the 33-foot boat because it was
waiting for the manufacturer to finish
installing electronic equipment.
The department has two other boats
that can be used to fight fires on the
water, but they don't have the
capabilities of the new one.
