A congressional committee went
fishing for answers today from the
coast guard, the F-B-I and the travel
industry about safety on board
passenger cruise ships.
This comes just days after a
couple was rescued when they fell
overboard from a cruise ship.
Cruise ship operators are
promising improvements in their crime
reporting to the F-B-I and Coast Guard.
Right now, the F-B-I says cruise
operators don't have to report crimes
against U-S laws if the vessel is 12
miles offshore.
The new agreement would make
operators report such crimes
immediately.

Titans vs. Vikings A beautiful day for some River
Ridge vs. Blue Ridge baseball at Clyde
Strutt field.
And this one was a flat out
pitching duel between two taltned left
handers. Hidden Valley Jason Divers
gets this strikeout as the game stayed
scoreless into the fifth inning.
Finally, in the bottom of the
fifth the Vikings would manufacture a
run as pinch hitter Zach Hurt drives
one to left. Shortstop Ian Reynolds
get a glove on it, but the hit is just
enough to drive home Tyler Deacon for
the eventual game winning run.
*CG final Hidden Valley
0 The Vikings got two more before
Northside it was over - and a complete game five
3 hitter from VMI bound Lefty Flora - who
struck out 10 Titans. Northside
improves to 3 and 0 with the
3-to-nothing win.

This Season Tincher posted a pair of
1-to-nothing wins including an 8
innning perfect game in which she
struckout 18 of the 24 batters she
faced. For the weekend, she pitched 15
innings of shutout ball, striking out
out 29, walking none and giving up just
one hit.
For the season her gaudy
statistics are so unreal they appear to
be made up - but they aren't. She's
already won 20 games this season,
struck out 330 batters and her earned
run average is point 43.
