guilty of attempted robbery.

Tonight, a jury found the 25
year old defendant guilty on seven of
eight counts for a series of attempted
robberies in 20-05.

The jury is recommending Morva
spend the next 38 years behind bars for
those crimes.

on those robbery charges when he
escaped last August and allegedly
killed a security officer and a deputy.

Morva is expected to go on trial
for those crimes in September.

A raging brush fire is burning
just about half-a-mile from the iconic
"hollywood" sign in the hollywood
hills.

It started next to a corporate
housing complex and spread up the north
face of the hills. About 200
firefighters and five helicopters are
involved in fighting it. So far 150
acres have burned.

No reports of homes or business
damaged yet, but one building has been
evacuated.

night, it didn't take long for a crew
to find a man in the Cowpasture River.

A rescue team found 28 year-old
Thomas Andrew Camp of Augusta County.

They spotted him shortly after
9:00 this morning near Riverland Road
in Alleghany County.

Crews started looking for him
Thursday night around 8:00 after a
9-1-1 call.

Authorities don't know how he
ended up in the water.

His family had reported him
missing, but authorities don't suspect
foul play. A tip from two boys
prompted emergency teams that Camp
needed help.

recalled....a continuance of the
massive Menu Foods recall.

Hill's Pet Nutrition is calling
back its Prescription Diet m/d Feline
dry cat food.

The company says it contains
wheat gluten from the same supplier as

all of the other tainted food.

Going back to the original
recall, the FDA says it found a
chemical used to make plastics in
samples of the wet pet foods from Menu,
called melamine.

But the FDA says it found
no trace of a caner drug used in rat
poison, depsite experts in New York
claiming their tests did find the
substance.

her home near Ferrum was acquitted
today on animal cruelty.

failing to take her Schnauzer to the
vet after he broke his leg.

Though the vet who finally treated the
dog said it suffered "significant
pain," the judge concluded Felter had
done what she could.

Felter still faces about two dozen

provide adequate shelter for her
animals AND failure to properly dispose
of dead animals found in and around her
home.

Tennessee took an interesting turn.

old man charged in the case....actually
turned out to be a woman.

Other inmates in the prison
noticed during a jail time shower.

Authorities then found that the
person posing as Alexander Cross...was
instead "Elaine" Cross.

relationship with a 15 year old girl.

stories from a balcony and survived.

Police say the water logged grass
that he landed on is what cushioned his
fall and saved his life.

He broke his legs and is being

capitol city tonight as the Slavery
Reconciliation Statue was unveiled.

Two other identical statues have
already been erected in England and
West Africa....representing the
triangle of the slave trade.

Hundreds of people of all races
and walks of life gathered to see the
statue.

The unveiling comes on the heels
of the General Assembly's resolution

expressing profound regret for the
Commonwealth's role in slavery.

Several other states have
followed Virginia's lead introducing
