Office is expected to continue the
search today for a man who may have
possibly drowned.

on Riverland Road in the Sharon section
of the county.
That's about six miles east of
Clifton Forge.
The Sheriff says just before
eight o'clock last night, two boys were
riding their bikes along the Cowpasture
River when they SAY they saw a man in
the water.

Yesterday the hearing examiner
recommended the commission approve a
three- point- nine percent increase.
For a customer using one-

each month.
If the commission approves the
recommendation- customer accounts will
be credited with interest for paying
the interim rate increase.
APCO hasn't increased its rates
in more than ten- years.
A spokesman says the company
needs the extra money to comply with
environmental regulations.

and a Montgomery County sheriff's
deputy.
Morva was in jail on robbery

rob 2 convenience stores, a Burger King
and a Credit Union.
The judge brought in 54 potential

man who may have possibly drowned in
Alleghany County.

as Franklin County Sheriff.
He will have been on the job 32 years
when his term ends in December.
In the last election, Overton won
re-election with 82-percent of the
vote.
A state trooper for 15 years and an
A-B-C agent before becoming sheriff in
1976, Overton has spent his entire life
in law enforcement.
The 69-year old sheriff told the staff
about his plans to retire last night.
And there's already a list of
candidates to replace him, including
Overton's son, Captain Bill Overton.

ceremony and there will be a number of
kids-related activities.
One of the highlights of the
festivites will be the opening ceremony
of the Roanoke Special Events Center.
Overall, the day will be a

The search will resume this
morning for a man who may have possibly
drowned in Alleghany County.
The Sheriff says just before
eight o'clock last night, two boys were
riding their bikes along the Cowpasture
River when they SAY they saw a man in
the water.
Rescue crews responded a short
time later but so far the search has
turned up nothing.

Morva Robbery trial.
Morva's the Blacksburg man
accused of escaping from custody last
August and killing a security officer
and a Montgomery County sheriff's
deputy.
