Sixty-eight-year-old Lourena Hamm
had recently undergone double-bypass
heart surgery. Doctors sent her home to
recover.
But when she needed help again,
that's where her family says the
problems started.
When Lourena Hamm was having
difficulty breathing, her husband
called 911 at 1:40 a.m. The first
ambulance showed up at 2:15 a.m.
The dispatcher called the Pedlar
station, the closest squad, but nobody
responded.
An Emergency dispatcher also
contacted the next two closest squads.
Monelison, more than 20 miles
away responded but didn't have an
advanced life support member on board.
Before Hamm made it to the
hospital, crews pronounced her dead.
