2 this morning.

Campbell County deputies spotted a
suspicious van sitting in the lot and
tried talking to the driver when she
sped off.

The pursuit reached speeds of more
than 100 miles per hour ... and at one
point, Deputy Jason Saunders joined in.

We begin tonight with a variety
of March Madness involving coaches on
the moves - and one most thought would
actually never leave.

First on the men's side - West
Virginia's John Beilein will be named
the next head coach at Michigan.

The news of this move started to leak
out just after midnight last night, and
the word today is that the former
University of Richmond boss will be
formally introduced tomorrow.

One of his star's - Radford

native Darris Nichols - confirmed that
the WVU players are supposed to meet
with him later today.

The 54-year-old coach has never
been an assistant. He's compiled
winning records in 26 of his 29
seasons, going 551-318. That includes
NCAA Tournament appearances with
Canisius, Richmond and West Virginia.
Getting him will not be cheap - it will
cost MIchigan $2 point 5 million to buy
out the reaminder of his contract in
Morgantown.

today he was all about the crystal.

National Championship trophy today and
rest assured he had someone else do the
heavy lifting.

Last year during Midnight Madness
Donovan dropped the trophy as a
practical joke.


It was only a glass replica.

Last night there was nothing fake
about the Gators winning back to back
titles with a nine point victory over
Ohio State.

But there is still the - Kentucky
job opening - and while doesn't want it
to dsitract from his team's
accomplishments - he refuses to deny
any interest in the position.

that was felt all the way back here in
ACC country this afternoon when word
got out that Duke head coach Gail
Goestenkors is leaving the Blue Devils
to take over at Texas.

Goesterkors, who is 44, took over

Duke 15 seasons ago when the program
was anything but a nationa power.
During those 15 seasons she won seven
Atlantic Coast Conference coach of the
year awards and compiled a career
record of 396-99. She will take over
for hall of fame coach Jody Conradt -
who retired at the end of the just
completed season.

broke the world speed record by
traveling more than 350 miles- an-
hour.

The train with three double -decker
cars is named the V- 150-

It smashed the previous record of
just over 320 miles-per-hour fpr a

conventional train.

But it fell short of the ULTIMATE
record set by a Japanese magnetic
levitation train-- which soared to 361
miles- per- hour.
