died at the scene, two were treated at

recover the boat out of the water, it
sank.

charged with capital murder in the
deaths of a Montgomery County Sheriff's
deputy and a hospital security officer.
Morva was in court this
afternoon, as his attorneys argued 13
pre-trial motions.
The majority of the motions dealt
with jury selection and the
Constitutionality of the death penalty.
Morva's defense will ask the
court to move the trial out of
Montgomery County.

when his patrol car crashed on Johnson
Mountain Road near Huddleston.
Saunders was on his way to help
other deputies involved in a high-speed
pursuit.

today to consider Governor Kaine's
vetoes and amendments.
Delegates and Senators
overwhelmingly approved the governor's
changes to the transportation bill.
That after Kaine worked with
Republican leaders to craft a
compromise.
The bill includes three- billion
dollars in bonds- to be paid back with
existing taxes.
Bad drivers will pay higher fees,
vehicle registration fees will increase
ten dollars. while the tax on diesel
will be increased to match that on
gasoline.

Today, a federal appeals
court threw out a lawsuit against the
Pentagon over the decades-old National
Boy Scout Jamboree.

2005 Every four years, thousands of
scouts from across the country gather
at Fort A-P Hill in Bowling Green. The
event began in 1937.
The legal fight stems from
a lawsuit filed against the Pentagon in
1999 on behalf of two Chicago-area
religious leaders.
They claim the Boy Scouts
shouldn't be receiving public support
for the event because the Boy Scouts
require members to swear an oath of
"Duty to God."
But the Seventh U-S Circuit Court
of Appeals said in a ruling today that
the plaintiffs didn't have standing to
file the lawsuit.

Consumer Product Safety Commission Intex Recreation Corporation has
recalled 460-thousand above-ground pool
ladders.
The models include the 42-inch,
48-inch, and 52-inch "A" frame with the
brand names "Intex," "Easy Set" and
"Sand N Sun" brands.
They were sold at Sam's Club,
Wal Mart and Target from February
2006-to February of this year. They
ranged from 150-800 dollars.
So far 172 people have been
hurt....apparently the ladder's steps
can be put together backwards on
support brackets and then break.

Friday Football Extra - 1987 Dana Palmer, who was a player of

died of cancer in 2001 - in his early
30's.
Palmer was only five feet two
inches tall, but he rushed for more
than 2 thousand yards in his senior
year.

former teammates and area celebrities
like Shane and Darris Nichols, Doug
Day, Chester Black, Ron Shelburne,
Kevin Sherman and our own Grant
Kittelson are playing hoops to help
raise money for the Dana Palmer
Memorial Scholarship Fund.
The game tips-off at Radford High
at 6 and admission is absolutely free.
