states they're looking for the wildest

murder case of a Franklin County
minister.

VO-NAT A new court document reveals
Charles Cobler confessed to killing
Nancy Copin last Monday night.
A Franklin County deputy took the
alleged confession from Cobler days ago
while he was in the process of being
extradited back to Virginia.
In the statement the investigator
says Cobler admits to going to Copin's
house with the intent to rob her and it
turned into a deadly altercation.
He was arraigned in court this
morning on first degree murder charges.
A preliminary hearing is
scheduled for mid-June.

He faces 10 counts of rape of a
12 year old girl that date back to the
1970's.
The Blacksburg Police
investigated Jonathan Utin for at least
7 months before the charges were filed.
Brad Finch says the victim in
this case came forward early on in the
process.

Finch says if anyone else
wants to file a complaint about Utin
with him or the Blacksburg Police, he
will consider bringing more charges.

assault have been dropped.

North Carolina's attorney general
made the announcement today.
He says the athletes were victims
of a "rush to accuse" by an over
reaching prosecutor.
He also said his own
investigation found not only that
evidence against the players was
insufficient...but that no attack took
place.
The attorney general took over
the case after Durham District Attorney
Mike Nifong was accused of ethics
violations.

suspected bank robber's run did not
last too long in Roanoke this
afternoon.

Police were called to this
Suntrust branch in the 51-hundred block
of Williamson Road around 1:15.
Investigators say a man got
away with cash... but dropped some.
Officers were seen picking up
bills around the bank's parking lot.
Police caught up with the
suspect- and arrested in a short while
later at an apartment on Tuckawana
Circle.
He's been identified as
32-year-old Larry Irvin Hicks. Police
won't confirm how Hicks got from the
bank to the apartments.
Hicks has been charged with
robbery.

that extends tours of duty for the army
in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Last Season Forest forward Kevin Swinton is
transferring. The 6-7 sophomore from
Greensboro started 13 of the 58 games
he played for Wake Forest. As a
sophomore, he averaged two points and
two rebounds while playing nine minutes
per game.
Swinton is the third member of the
Wake Forest team to transfer, joining
freshman Casey Crawford and sophomore
Shamaine Dukes.
