Cobler was arraigned in court
this morning on first degree murder
charges.

He's opted for a court appointed

County sent one man to the hospital.

It happened just before nine at
the intersection of route 11 and Gibson
Lane in Cloverdale.

According to investigators, the
driver of a red SUV swerved and crossed
into the Northbound lanes, hitting the
rear of a tractor trailer carrying
industrial ash.

The driver of the tractor trailer
was okay, but the driver of the SUV was
taken to the hospital.

His condition has not been
released.

The road is still open, but
traffic is moving slowly as crews work
to clean the area.

Nearly 12-hundred people have
already signed a petition in support of
the ordinance.

The petition was prompted by
rumors that a Walmart was coming to
this land, right near Margaret Beeks
Elementary School.

The council will vote on the
ordinance May 8th.

March 30 Waltrip is charged with reckless
driving and failing to report an
accident after hitting a Telephone Pole
and rolling his car early Saturday

Morning.

He then left the scene of the
accident.

Waltrip says he fell asleep at
the wheel.

Waltrip is in his first season as
a car owner, and while driving for
Toyota, has qualifed for just one race
this season, The Daytona 500.

The accident on Saturday occured
about a mile from Waltrip's home.

He suffered scratches to his face
and cuts to his finger.
