early this morning in Campbell County.

Around three o'clock David
Rodgriguez Ferguson of Appomattax was
driving on Route 460 east near Mount
Athos Road.

Police say Ferguson ran off the
side of the road, hit an embankment and
flipped his car.

He died at the scene.

The 23-year-old was not wearing a
seatbelt.

inching forward.

seeing a vision of a new Rockledge Inn
become a reality.

His group Valley Forward proposed
a plan to the Roanoke City Council to
turn the this land on Mill Mountain
into an upscale lodge which includes
45-60 rooms, a destination restuarant
and jazz club.

annual tuition increases of 10 percent
and a greater reliance on private gifts
are in the school's future.

faculty senate last week.

He says Virginia's universities
"dodged a bullet" when legislators
settled on taking 69 million dollars
out of the general fund to use for
transportation rather than the 250
million dollars originally discussed.

At the Blacksburg school, there

operating costs.

And with increasing enrollment,
Tech's president tuition will likely be
about 50 percent higher than it is

crash that critically injured New
Jersey's governor.

man is a special needs driver who may

Authorities found the man last
night at an Atlantic City casino where

Sports has learned that James Johnson
will fill one of the assistant coaching
vacancies on Seth Greenberg's staff.
Johnson spent the last 2 years at
George Mason and has also worked at
Penn State and the College of
Charleston. Known as a stong recruiter
he also has a local tie. Johnson, a
Powhatan native, played at Ferrum,
graduating in 1993.

Coach Gregg Marshall is on the move.

as the new head coach at Wichita State.
Marshall was 194 and 83 in 9 years at
Winthrop, leading the Eagles to an NCAA
Tournament upset of Notre Dame this
season.

He gets a 7 year deal worth 750
grand a season. The Cave Spring grad
replaces Mark Turgeon who left for
Texas A&M earlier this week. Marshall
finally leaves Rock Hill after
interviewing at several big time
schools in recent years.

:00 Sticking with college hoops, Ohio
State freshman Greg Oden has decided to
declare for the upcoming NBA draft.
That's according to Oden's father. The
7-footer could be the first overall
selection in the draft, after leading
the Buckeyes to the national title game
this past season. He would join the
Georgetown duo of Roy Hibbert and Jeff
Green who announced today that they
would leave school early for the pros.

But when it counted, Kenseth had

Busch win of the season. Hamlin was

rape scandal. Today the two hooked up
in a classic in Durham.

ODAC.

This one was all Maroons. Check

Rankin finding Sunni Ray on the break
for the sunshine tally.

Kayla Moore finished things off
by getting it to Hutchins for another

to life.

This old cabin in Glade Hill was
built in 18 hundreds and eventually
sold to one of the sharcroppers who
worked on the property.

Sam Holland then passed it on to
his son Will who's currently restoring
it back to it's orginial condition.

Holland says the job hasn't come
without it's fair share of headaches
but keeping it intact was his father's
final wish.
