history as being the site of the
deadliest mass shooting in the country
to date. Before today, the deadliest
school shooting was back in 1966 in
Texas....16 people were killed then....

It reminds many people of what
happened at a Colorado high school
almost four years ago.

The two Columbine shooters both
committed suicide and the shooter in

to this day every year for the victims

repeatedly today is the cell phone
video taken from a Virginia Tech
student....he was able to narrate as
gunfire was going off in the
background....

has changed how we get information in
breaking news situations.....But for a
lot of students getting out on a cell
phone was difficult because so many
people were calling loved ones......

Which lead students to turn to the
internet to find information and
dispense it....of course one of the
most popular websites today,
Myspace....we found students pages that
had concerned friends asking which
dorms they were in, if they were okay,
what was happening.....

And we had been waiting to see if
students would turn to youtube to post
amateur video....again, not a lot of it
on the internet, this is what we
found....but as we understand students
were afraid for their lives so shooting
video certainly not a priority.

Rohrbaugh says the pain from the
attack eight years ago hasn't gone
away.

And Frank DeAngelis is the principal

Sunday evening.

It doesn' t look like much damage
from the outside but the tree did poke
through the top of the roof where two
children normally sleep.

Luckily their dad says they were
not there last night.

and side windows at his shop.

repeatedly today is the cell phone

video taken from a Virginia Tech
student....he was able to narrate as
gunfire was going off in the
background....

VO NAT Just one example of how technology
has changed how we get information in
breaking news situations.....But for a
lot of students getting out on a cell
phone was difficult because so many
people were calling loved ones......

Which lead students to turn to the
internet to find information and
dispense it....of course one of the
most popular websites today,
Myspace....we found students pages that
had concerned friends asking which
dorms they were in, if they were okay,
what was happening.....

And we had been waiting to see if
students would turn to youtube to post
amateur video....again, not a lot of it
on the internet, this is what we
found....but as we understand students
were afraid for their lives so shooting
video certainly not a priority.
