of the Hokie athletic teams are trying
to get back to the business of
competing. While they'll never forget
the events of earlier in the week,
getting back on the field of play has
been therapeutic.

The baseball team will be the
first varsity team back in action on
campus when it hosts Miami in the first
game of a three game set Friday at 7pm.
The softball team will follow on
Saturday with a Noon doubleheader
against Maryland, hopefully providing a
temporary escape from real life.

Both teams will honor the victims--the
baseball team with black socks and
under armour shirts, the softball team
by wearing black ribbons and possibly
helmet stickers with the number 32. In

it will honor the Hokies all season
long by putting VT stickers on their
batting helmets.

permission from Tech to display the
school's logo for the next three weeks
in a tribute to the victims of this
week's shootings on the Blacksburg
campus.
The logo will be displayed on the
post located just to the right of the
driver's side window net on all cars
and trucks in the Cup, Busch and
Craftsman series starting this weekend
in Phoenix.
