about a deadly shooting involving
police this week.
Ron Ragland was there when a
Roanoke Police officer shot his
roommate.
And claims the events unfolded
differently than an account given by
the department.

roommate was going to kill himself.
When police arrived, he says they
acted too hastily when they shot and
killed 43 year-old John Harvey Bridges.
Ragland admits Bridges reached
for a sword but says he never

toward them.

anniversary of what HAD been the
deadliest mass school shooting in the
U-S.

April 20, 1999 Two teenage gunmen killed 12
classmates and a teacher at Columbine
High School in Littleton, Colorado
before killing themselves.
Relatives of those who died are
questioning a judge's recent decision
to seal information about the killers
for 20 years.
The judge said that information
could encourage copycat killers.
The move has angered Columbine
families and victims, who say opening
the files might help prevent more
tragedies, like the massacre at
Virginia Tech.
