friends said farwell to Jarrett Lane.

He was a senior engineering major
at Tech.

The funeral service was held at
Narrows High School were Lane once
excelled on the football field while
attending the school.

The 22-year-old had been accepted
into the Coastal Engineering Graduate
Program at the University of Florida.

plane died this evening after his plane
crashed during an air show in South
Carolina.

83-year-old Henry County man has ended

Authorities found this man,
Harold Rorrer dead around noon today a
mile away form his home.

The Basset man was last seen
yesterday around 8 in the morning.

He suffered from Alzheimer's and
a heart condition.

Authorities aren't sure if this
played a role in his death but say
nothing looked suspicious when they
found him.

nails trimmed and ears cleaned...

pet owners received the "top dog"
treatment for their four-legged
friends.

The group expected to raise
several thousand dollars.

This year that money will go to
the Hokie Memorial Fund.

the morning sharing themselves and

The volunteers bagged hundreds
maybe even thousands of sweet potatoes.

All of the potatoes will
eventually be delivered to local food

their spring football game today, and
the players sported V-T logo stickers
on their helmets to honor the fallen
victims of Monday's shooting. *CG locator State College, PA

And in State College at the Penn
State spring game, there were various
shows of support for the Hokies. A
crowd of 71 thousand fans were on hand,
many in maroon and orange shirts. The
proceeds from those shirts will be
donated to the Hokie Spirit fund. 27
year old Jeremy Herbstritt was an
enginerring graduate student who died
in the shooting. He earned an
undergrad degree at Penn State. His
father and girlfriend presented Joe
Paterno with a maroon, Virginia Tech
hat before the game.

terrible week at Virginia Tech. But it
also included the banding together of
the Hokie nation. The softball team
did its part to continue the healing by
getting back on the field against
Maryland, following a moment of
silence.

double dip against the Terps, and the
shooting victims were remembered with
tributes across the stadium.

the game's second run.

Charisse Maraconda then went
back up the middle for a baseknock.

That brought home another run for Tech
as Stephanie Savre crossed the plate.

Angela Tincher struck out 9 in
5 and a third innings of work as Tech
held on *CG final Maryland late to win it 5-4. She pitched all 4 five innings in game 2, striking out 8 Virginia Tech in an 11 to 1 Virginia Tech win.

and field team grabbed the ACC title
today in College Park, outdistancing
second place Miami 144.5 to 113. The
ladies also won the indoor title this
season.

In golf, Jay Hardwick's Hokies
are tied for fourth after day two of
the league tournament in Baden Lake,
North Carolina. Tech is at 1-under,
five shots behind leader Georgia Tech.
Hokie Nick MacDonald is tied for 4th

individually, just two strokes off the
lead.

Lynchburg faced off with Bridgewater in
