a robbery.

Not much is known, but police say
it happened on Walnut Street in the
Southeast part of town around midnight.

He was eventually apprehended.

and friends said farwell to Jarrett
Lane.

He was a senior engineering major
at Tech.

The funeral service was held at
Narrows High School where Lane once
excelled on the football field while
attending the school.

The 22-year-old had been accepted
into the Coastal Engineering Graduate

Program at the University of Florida.

Austin Cloyd.

She had her life cut short on the
Tech campus.

Tomorrow she would have been 19.

Cloyd was a member of the honors

The Marching Virginians traveled

former band member.

Rachael Hill.

studying biology

beautiful, confident, poised young

yesterday for Reema Samaha sam-a-ha in
Chantilly.

She was remembered for her smile,
grace and poise and her love of
movement.

Hilscher hil-scher.

About 15-hundred people filled
the football field of Hilscher's alma
mater, Rappahannock RAP-a-hanock
County High School.

Emily is believed to be the first

on the ground are hurt after an airshow
crash in South Carolina.

crash occurred.

This is video from early in the

According to reports, pilots were
doing a closing maneuever where all six
jets move into a triangle-fomation and

being attacked at a Florida beach.

It happened off the coast of New
Smyrna Beach, Florida.

The 23-year-old man was bitten on
the hand and suffered deep gashes to
his finger and thumb.

He says he was in shock and it
took him a minute to come back to shore
after he was attacked by the three to
four foot shark.

This is the second shark attack
off the coast of Volusia County this
year.

Earlier this month a 7-year-old
boy was bitten on the calf.

took place six years ago was captured
by police in Canada.

24-year-old Mikhail Drachev
mic-hail drac-hev was arrested Friday
in Toronto after his girlfriend found
out he was wanted by police.

Drachev drac-hev is accused of
killing 21-year-old Konstantin Simberg
Con-stan-in Sim-berg in December 2001
in Phoenix.

Simberg had implicated Drachev
drac-hev and two other men in a million
dollar pharmaceutical heist.

Those two men are now both

serving jail sentences.

Drachev is currently being held
by Canadian police.

83-year-old Henry County man has ended

Authorities found this man,
Harold Rorrer, dead around noon
yesterday a mile away from his home.

The Basset man was last seen
Friday at around eight in the morning.

He suffered from Alzheimer's and
a heart condition.

Authorities aren't sure if this
played a role in his death, but say
nothing looked suspicious when they
found him.

at Virginia Tech-- one of the
university's graduates has donated a
thousand dollars to the Foundation for
the Roanoke Valley to start a school
violence assistance fund.

In just a matter of days, that
thousand has turned into 20-thousand
dollars as the community opens their
hearts.

Monday The fund will be used to help
victims of school violence, as well as
their families.

The foundation has already given
four-thousand dollars to one of the
Tech families for burial expenses.

The money will also go toward
