Blacksburg campus last week asking students about
what it would be like to get back to
class for the first time today, I was
asking the question from the emotional
point-of-view� I guess, taking for
granted that they would feel safe.
But we spoke to one foreign
exchange student from Indonesia who
says he does not feel comfortable going
back to class today because of the fear
of a retaliation against Asian
students.

part of yesterday honoring one of its
own.

class from William Fleming last spring.
He also became an American
citizen in May which is when he
officially changed his name to Henry
Lee.
He and his family moved from
Vietnam to Roanoke when he was five.

humor, he was 20-years-old.

Johnston and Norris Hall.

This Week A medical examiner says the 32
people who died were shot a total of
more than 100 times.
He says Cho Seung- Hui then took
his own life with a bullet to the head.
The autopsy report also shows
many of the victims had defensive
wounds, indicating they tried to shield

suspect is reportedly in custody after
a shooting in Giles County last night.
Few details have been released,
but officials with State police say
that after the shooting, the victim was
able to drive himself to the Bland
Correctional facility where he was
flown to the hospital.
Giles County authorities are not
releasing any information at this time.

Panhandle town of Cactus have issued a
dusk- to- dawn curfew, after several
suspected tornadoes struck over the
weekend.

The storms blew through the area
Saturday night, flattening homes and
knocking down power lines.
Authorities say at least 14 people
were injured.
About 50 people from the town of
25-hundred are unaccounted for, but
county officials say they believe
they're all safe.

after hearing tornado sirens, while
others stayed and watched the
destruction.

into what caused a Navy Blue Angel jet
to crash during an air show this
weekend.

missing man formation yesterday in
honor of fallen pilot, Lieutenant
Commander Kevin Davis.
The 32- year- old died Saturday when
his plane crashed into a neighborhood
during an air show in Beaufort

finished examining more than 30
weight-loss studies and found long-term
dieting does not keep the pounds off.
While people may lose weight initially,
many relapse and regain the pounds they
shed.

Researchers in China say they ve
identified a gene variant that appears
to protect Chinese people from various
types of cancer.
The gene is C-A-S-P-8 and its job is to
regulate cell death.
The variant found in this cell seems to
lower the risk of lung, stomach, breast
and other cancers in Chinese people.

Scientists say they now have more
evidence than ever that pesticides can
cause Parkinson s disease.
One study shows that farm workers who
used the common weed killer Paraquat
had two to three times the normal risk
of Parkinson s.. a degenerative brain
disease that eventually paralyzes
patients.

He and his family moved from

the Texas panhandle, where several
apparent tornadoes struck.

regarding a shooting in Giles County
last night.
Giles County investigators now
say that the shooting happened on White
Pine Road during an altercation between
two males.
Authorities say the victim was
able to drive himself to the Bland
Correctional facility. He was later
flown to Roanoke Memorial Hospital.
No further details are available
at this time.

finished examining more than 30
weight-loss studies and found long-term
dieting does not keep the pounds off.
While people may lose weight initially,
many relapse and regain the pounds they
shed.

Researchers in China say they ve
identified a gene variant that appears
to protect Chinese people from various
types of cancer.
The gene is C-A-S-P-8 and its job is to
regulate cell death.
The variant found in this cell seems to
lower the risk of lung, stomach, breast
and other cancers in Chinese people.

Scientists say they now have more
evidence than ever that pesticides can
cause Parkinson s disease.
One study shows that farm workers who
used the common weed killer Paraquat
had two to three times the normal risk
of Parkinson s.. a degenerative brain
disease that eventually paralyzes

into what caused a Navy Blue Angel jet
to crash during an air show this
weekend.

missing man formation yesterday in
honor of fallen pilot, Lieutenant
Commander Kevin Davis.
The 32- year- old died Saturday when
his plane crashed into a neighborhood

Panhandle town of Cactus have issued a
dusk- to- dawn curfew, after several
suspected tornadoes struck over the
weekend.

The storms blew through the area
Saturday night, flattening homes and
knocking down power lines.
Authorities say at least 14 people
were injured.
About 50 people from the town of
25-hundred are unaccounted for, but

others stayed and watched the
destruction.
