suspect who shot and killed a state
trooper and wounded two others.

The hunt for suspect Travis Trim
started yesterday after Trooper Matthew
Gombosi was shot during a traffic stop
in the Margaretville area.

Police say Gombosi's body armor
saved him from serious injury, but the
suspect escaped.

This morning, two more state
troopers who had been searching for
Trim were shot during a confrontation
in Margaretville. One has since died.

statements in the murder trial of music
producer Phil Spector.

to death at Spector's hilltop castle.

Prosecutor Alan Jackson said the
evidence will show Spector put a loaded
pistol into Lana Clarkson's mouth and
shot her to death.

Spector's attorneys are to present
their opening remarks later.

Spector has maintained his innocence.

Prosecutors allege Spector did not
intend to kill Clarkson but caused her

death by reckless behavior.

If convicted of second-degree
murder, Spector could get up to life in
prison.
