guilty to first degree murder.
He confessed that he killed his
sister because he said she deserved to
die and because she was keeping him
away from the rest of his family.
While he showed no remorse for
the crime, he was put out when the
judge asked him if he thought his
lawyer represented him well.
To this Motes answered, he was
not happy with his attorney because he
felt he paid this case very little
attention.
His attorney said that was not
true.

an executive order that requires the
names of people involuntarily committed
to "in or out- patient" care be entered
into the database barring the sale of
guns.....
These are patients considered to
be a danger to themselves or others.
After the shootings at Virginia
Tech, Kaine found some courts report
"out-patient" commitments, but many do
NOT.
His action standardizes the
practice- to keep guns out of hands of
unstable Virginians.

This is the week the PGA Tour
rolls into the Queen City as Charlotte
plays host to the Wachovia
championship.
29 of the top 30 players in the
world will be playing in the event, but
the pro-am event on Wednesday will
feature the best pairing of the entire
tournament.

will play together Wednesday. They
will tee off at 7:30 am at Quail Hollow
Club in a rare pairing of the world's
two best known athletes.
The Wachovia Championship

second at the Masters. Jordan is a
part-owner of the Charlotte Bobcats.

later this week and the Roanoke College
Maroons know their first round opponent
all too well.

champs will face Washington & Lee
Wednesday night under the lights in
Salem.
Roanoke won the regular season
title with a 5-and-1 conference mark,
but their one loss came to W&L back on
March 24th when they fell 14-to-13.
Roanoke has since reeled off 7
straight wins and moved up to number 11
in the nation in the rankings.

Each competitor had to make at

One car got more than 16-hundred
miles per gallon.
