Although he helped to raise test
scores, he also angered many teachers
and staff along the way.

The school board now has the
difficult task of finding a new

bring together farmers, volunteer
gleaners, food banks and relief
agencies into one nationwide
distribution network.

The goal of that network is to
provide food for the hungry that
otherwise would have gone to waste.

The group's humble roots stem
from this sheep shed in Big Island that
served as the home office 27 years ago.

The non-profit organization
continues to base its operations in
Bedford County and helps distribute
food to those in need across the

people, but also comes with the burden
of huge operating expenses... mainly
rising fuel costs.

Fuel prices have gone up in
recent years making it more expensive
to transport food and has taken a dent
out of most families' income.

crashed near the San Francisco- Oakland
Bay Bridge.

The accident created a fire so

reports of rabid animals, domestic and
wild, have been reported in Virginia.

At this point in 2006, 175 rabid
animals had been reported.

Rabies is a potentially lethal
disease that attacks the nervous
system.

It's spread mainly by saliva from
infected animals that

enters the body through bites or
through the mouth or eyes.

Most cases of rabies involve
animals in wilderness areas.

latest assessment by the special
inspector general finds violence and

rebuilding efforts that Iraqis will not

be capable of managing their own
reconstruction anytime soon.

Both Iraq and the US will be reaching
out for help from Iraq�s neighbors

at a conference later this week. Over
the weekend Iran agreed to attend

the talks in Eygpt where Secretary of
State Condoleezza Rice will

represent the U-S.

As she made the rounds on the Sunday
morning talk shows Rice did not

rule out a meeting with Iran.. and she
also chided Congress for sending

President Bush a war spending bill that
includes a timetable for US

troop withdrawal.

The goal of that network is to

The group's humble roots stem
from this sheep shed in Big Island that
served as the home office 27 years ago.

The non-profit organization
continues to base its operations in
Bedford County and helps distribute
food to those in need across the

with the benefit of helping so many
people, but also comes with the burden
of huge operating expenses... mainly
rising fuel costs.

Fuel prices have gone up in
recent years making it more expensive
to transport food and has taken a dent
out of most families' income.

year-round and people simply have less
to give.
