city says it's indefinite.

Some on council are open to
keeping it white because they say
there's no telling when the war will
end.

will remain that way as long as we are
at war.

People we talked to say a promise

hospital after a car crash on
Williamson Road this evening.

Police say a Chevy Blazer, and
Ford Tempo were both headed north on
Williamson when they collided in the
200 block

No details on how the crash
happened.

The driver of the Blazer was not
seriously hurt -- the driver of the
Tempo had to be cut out of the car. She
was taken to Roanoke Memorial hospital,
along with her passenger.

Police are still investigating.
No charges have been filed.

assault and battery tonight.

A female client of his Sky nails
salon said while massaging her, he
grabbed her breast and reached up her
pants.

The jury also gave Tran a
25-hundred dollar fine.

Tran still faces five more trials
on similar charges he inappropriately
touched several clients.

42-year-old Argle ARE-juhl Hall

was arrested eleven years after the
alleged crimes.

The victim says in May of 19-94
someone broke into her home as she
slept and was attacked in her bed.

She was attacked again in May of
19-96.

Detectives interviewed Hall on a
hunch, and they say he confessed to the
rapes on both video tape, and in a
written statement.

A judged certifed the charges
against Hall today, and sent them to a
Grand Jury.

attack to kill U-S troops on American
soil.

A federal prosecutor says they
planned to attack New Jersey's Fort Dix

and kill as many soldiers as possible.

The F-B-I caught wind of the
alleged plot when the group brought
something that looked like a terrorist
training tape to a store to make
copies.

Authorities then set up a sting
and caught the suspects trying to buy
guns to carry out their attack.

Five are charged with conspiracy
to kill U-S military personnel.

The sixth is charged with helping
them.

Robert Ballard was at the Hotel
Roanoke to promote the Jason project..


It's a program that allows
students to learn about science by
putting them in touch with scientists..

Operation monster storms is one
program that deals with weather- and
allows students to track storms with
tornado chasers.

Ballard started the Jason project
in 1989.. but he hopes to expand it in
schools--

During his visit to Roanoke he
remembered Henry Lee.. the William
Fleming graduate who died in the
Virginia Tech shootings.. Ballard said
Lee was an ambassador for the Jason
project.

teams squared off this afternoon in
South Roanoke County as Hidden Valley
played host to Cave Spring.

Knights vs. Titans It was an absolutely perfect May :00 afternoon to get out on the diamond.
And those in attendance would see a lot
of good pitching and defense.

Titans are threating early, but
Cave Spring catcher Meredith Moore will
throw out Hannah Shelton trying to
steal. McKenzie Meader applies the tag
to end the threat and the inning.

Hits were hard to come by, but
Titans' catcher Shannon Sampson slapped
this shot down the left field line, but
again Cave Spring and pitcher Chelsea
Kelley would hold.

The reigning state player of the
year, who is headed to Radford, would

help her own cause with a single to
left. The Knights would eventually get
five runs in the 7th thanks to a costly
error.

And their defense would do the
rest as the Knights *CG final Cave Spring beat Hidden Valley 5-to-1 avenging a 5 loss earlier in the season and forging Hidden Valley a first place tie in the River Ridge.

The 83 year old has spent 50
years in television.

This Saturday is the 15th annual
letter carrier food drive, which allows
you to donate food right from your
mailbox.

Just leave your donations by your
mailbox before your mail delivery.

Letter carriers will then pick
them up.

They hope to collect at least 150
thousand pounds of food.

It's the largest single-day event
of its kind and occurs in more than 10
thousand communities.
