It was a student in fact with a
cell phone that captured the tragedy as
it happened.

student who took that video and then
e-mailed it to C-N-N.

Within a matter of hours, it was
seen all over the world and changed
Jamal's life forever.

remember the last Hokie Bird that was
stolen allegedly involved a group of
students from UVA...well we have an
update....

Nine people have been arrested
for taking the bird back in March.

About a week later the statue was
returned to police but it was made
clear charges would follow.

All of the suspects have either
UVA mailing addresses or show up as
enrolled students on the UVA web site.

And all of the accused
turned themselves into police and are
charged with felony destruction of
property.

leads, trying to find out who shot and
killed two people and wounded a third
this morning in Pittsylvania County.

lot on Route 58 near Ringgold a little

after 3.

They found two people dead from
gunshot wounds including 23 year old
Zachary Titus of Danville.... a third
person taken to the hospital is

William Fleming High School- had some
parents on edge and students wondering
what was going on.

school at around one while Fleming was
searched..

William Ruffner Middle School was
also searched as a precaution.

School leaders say today's threat
came over the phone... less than 24
hours after someone found the word Bomb
and the date 5-eleven.. which is Friday
on a bathroom stall at Fleming.

A letter did go home to parents
alerting them of what's going on- and
the school also used its Rapid parent
notification system.

comes to sunscreen -- you really need
to pay attention to what you buy.

both UVB and UVA protection because

both types of rays can damage the skin
and cause skin cancer or premature
aging.

The SPF measures the amount of
UVB protection. For example SPF of 15
blocks 93 percent of the rays. While an
SPF of 50 blocks 99 percent.

But there is no official
guideline for UVA protection. And
doctor Allsion Divers says the most
common UVA blockers break down overtime
under light.

She says some newer generation
sunscreens like Neutrogena have added
stabilizers to prevent that.

player today as Tennessee native Jamar
Jenkins signed a letter of intent to

play for the Highlanders starting this
coming season.

Jenkins spent two years at
Western Carolina including a redshirt
season - before playing at Jackson
State Community College last season.

He's a six-six forward who
averaged 17 points a game last season.

elected to the College Football Hall of
Fame today in his first year of
eligibility.

Doug Flutie, the former Boston
College star, is joined by Ahmad Rashad
and Anthony Thompson in the newest
class of players and coaches honored by
the National Football Foundation.

The 5-foot-10 Flutie passed for
over 10 thousand yards in his college
career and won the heisman trophy at
BC.
