William Fleming High School- had some
parents on edge and students wondering
what was going on.

school at around one while Fleming was
searched..
William Ruffner Middle School was
also searched as a precaution.
School officials say today's threat
came over the phone... less than 24
hours after someone found the word Bomb
and the date 5-eleven.. which is Friday
on a bathroom stall at Fleming.
A letter did go home to parents
alerting them of what's going on- and
the school also used its Rapid parent
notification system.

trying to find out who shot and killed
two people and wounded a third this
morning in Pittsylvania County.

lot on Route 58 near Ringgold a little
after 3.
They found two people dead from
gunshot wounds including 23 year old
Zachary Titus of Danville.... a third
person taken to the hospital is
expected to survive.

people of Greensburg what he
could--comfort and compassion.
Seeing first hand what damage a
powerful F-5 tornado could deal
out--the President toured the area.
President Bush: Our role in government
is to work with state and local folks
to get whatever help we can to be here
as quick as possible. But today my
mission is to lift people's spirits as
best we can, and hopefully touch souls.
The president refused to comment on
recent criticism that recovery efforts
are being slowed because key National
Guard equipment is in Iraq.

Almost a week has passed since the
tornado hit�and town official are
finally confident everyone has been
accounted for and now shifting
focus�making plans to put this
community back together.
Restoring water and power are high
priorities, but that is just the tip of
the iceberg. An entire town has to be
rebuilt, including homes, schools and
public buildings.
Darin Headrick Superintendent:
The amount of planning that has to be
coordinated and take place is just
unbelievable. Town leaders say they
will bring in disaster experts to help
and they will also be expecting plenty
of support from the federal government.
The President has already ordered
emergency aid�and Wednesday he also
offered something else �his prayers.
The people here hope they're answered
soon and the help comes even sooner.

fire near Los Angeles...but some homes
are still in danager.

The fire is already 800 acres large..
and low humidity and high temperatures
could create more problems for crews--
battling the fire.
The blaze has closed several of
Griffith Park's major attractions.
It's also forced zookeepers at the Los
Angeles Zoo to be animals indoors.
Authorities say 13 aircraft will be
in the sky dropping water and retardant
over hotspots in the park.
They hope to have the fire contained
within 24 hours.
The cause of the fire remains under
investigation.

arrested in connection to a weekend
stabbing at Valley View Mall.

minor, turned herself into police after
a petition for her arrest was issued.
The teen has been charged with
malicious wounding.
On Saturday, officers were called

Macy's because of a large crowd.

found a 14-year-old girl who was
suffering from a stab wound.

Football Hall of Fame today in his
first year of eligibility.
The former Boston College star is

seasons while Roger Clemens is getting
ready for his 24th season in the big
leagues.
At the age of 45 he began his
comeback yesterday and the Yankees did
their part by pounding the Texas
Rangers last night 8 to 2.
Clemens threw his first pitches
since signing to come back with the
Yankees at the University of Kentucky.
He's says unless he comes back
and is successful is getting the
Yankees into the playoffs his return
will have been a waste of time.
