teams.

company founded by his late father,
when his contract with Dale Earnhardt
Incorporated expires at the end of
season.

He is NOT forming his own Nextel Cup
team.

It's a shake-up certain to ignite a
bidding war for Earnhardt's services.

Earnhardt had asked for 51 percent
ownership of the team now run by his
stepmother, Teresa.

Negotiations on a contract extension
began before the start of the 2007
season, and have been tense all along.

to misleading the public about the
drug's risk of addiction.

Purdue Pharma and the executives will
pay more than 634-million dollars in
fines.

The plea comes two days after the
company agreed to pay over 19-million

to 26 states, including Virginia, to
settle complaints that it encouraged
physicians to overprescribe OxyContin.

Brownlee says Purdue "unleashed a
highly abusable, addictive, and
potentially dangerous drug on an
unsuspecting and unknowing public."

The drug became a major problem in
Virginia -- particularly in southwest
Virginia and other areas of the
Appalachian region.

William Fleming High School in Roanoke.

School officials say students were
evacuated, and a sweep of the school
determined the threat to be unfounded.

high school in Boulder, Colorado.

Hokie Bird statue.

It appears the suspects may be
students from a rival university.

the College Football Hall of Fame in
his first year of eligibility.

The former Boston College
quarterback passed for over 10 thousand
yards in his college career, and won
the Heisman Trophy at B- C.

He also went on to play 21 years
of professional football in the CFL and
the NFL.
