Northside High School.

The administration had grief
counselors on hand and school officials
canceled all sporting events this
evening after a tragic crash cut short
the life of

His family described him as an
energetic, good kid.

was driving on Timberview Road when he
lost control of his car and struck a
tree.

Police say he was not wearing a
seatbelt.

Coughlin was not old enough to
drive alone. Police say charges could
be filed, if someone gave him
permission to get behind the wheel.

His funeral is tomorrow at North
Roanoke Baptist Church.

Joyce Hawthorne was killed,

procession.

War artist Mort Kunstler (KUNST-ler)
called "Going Home".

The painting shows Jackson's coffin
on the packet boat Marshall as it

Roanoke's Brambleton Center will
be blooming with color tomorrow, as
local master gardeners put their finest

flowers and shrubs up for sale.

VO-NAT The annual master gardeners sale

will highlight various types of
perennials and some shrubs.

One of those plants up for sale will be
the Lungwort. The alternative to the
hosta is a pest resistant plant, so
slugs and bugs won't tear it apart. And
it loves the shade.

If you'd like to take home a new
plant, or have a plant question of your
own, the Plant sale is tomorrow from
8am to Noon at the Brambleton Center,
near Cave Spring Corners.
