GRAPHIC=Crime Danville Police are investigating
two separate robberies this morning.
The first one happened at 10:30
last night on Southland Drive, a woman
and her son arrived home when two black
males produced a hand gun and took off
with her purse.
The second robbery occurred at
1:40 this morning on Rocklawd Avenue.
Two black males entered the home from
the back door and produced a hand gun.
They walked away with an
undisclosed amount of cash.
Police say that the robberies are
not-related.

crashing his car...

Police say he was headed north on
Timberview Road in Roanoke County
yesterday when he lost control and
crashed into a tree on the 3100 block.
He was pronounced dead at the
scene.
He wasn't wearing a seatbelt.
Police are still investigating,
and say charges are pending, although
it's unclear who may face them.

mislead the public about its product,
the makers of OxyContin have to pay
over 600- million dollars in fines and
penalties.

drug, claiming it's less addictive and
less likely to be abused.
Federal agents have been
investigating the company and its
lucrative product for the past five
years.
Yesterday three senior executive
from Purdue pled guilty to illegally
misbranding OxyContin, part of a
deliberate effort to defraud the
public.
The plea agreement calls for a
complex schedule of payments -
-including 34-million dollars from the
C-E-O, the company's in-house counsel
and its Medical Director.

name.

Blacksburg this weekend, they'll see
another memorial visible along Main
Street.

The Blacksburg Baptist Church has
put up 32 flag poles along the street.
Each flag will represent a victim
of last month's shooting.
Most of the flags will be
American, but there will also be flags
from the countries of the international
victims.
The poles were originally donated
to the university, but the school
didn't have time to put them up.
The church hopes to have the
flags flying by today.
