a scare at a Bedford County high school
Friday night.

Friday Night It started around six o'clock at
Staunton River High School when several
people reported seeing a man with a
long rifle walking around school
grounds during baseball and softball
games.
After hours of searching, Bedford
County Deputies were able to catch the
suspect late in the evening.
Authorities say he never fired
shots during the baseball game, but
fans were moved to a safe place as a
precaution.
The suspect, who has been
questioned, has not been charged at
this time.

the tragedy at Virginia Tech, but this
weekend family and friends tried to
move forward as the college celebrated
graduation.
Each college or department held
their indivdual graduation cermonies
yesterday.

graduation - one of the departments hit
hard by last month's shootings.

this commencement was not your normal
day of celebration.

Missouri Governor Matt Blunt says
flooding in his state wasn't as bad as
expected, but there are still areas
that have been hard hit.

Several counties in the
northwestern part of Missouri have been
heavily impacted from recent heavy
rains.
The Missouri River reached nearly
30 feet Saturday, that's about six feet
above flood stage.
The governor says family farmers,
among others, will suffer setbacks in
the wake of storms that have affected
the Missouri River.

A nine-year-old Minnesota girl
spent her Saturday pouring lemonade for
her thirsty neighbors... But the money
she got is not for her.
All the proceeds from Lillian
Tobin's lemonade stand will go to the
cleanup after last weekend's tornadoes
in Greensburg, Kansas.
The lemonade stand was apparently
a success... Lillian raised 5-thousand
dollars in six-hours.

heroism of a former colleague.
