VO-NAT Triple-A reports the nationwide

average for regular gasoline rose to a
record 3-07 a gallon today.

If it is any consolation, the
Roanoke region's average is 27 cents
less, and that is still well below the
3-19 or higher we paid just after
Hurricane Katrina hit the Gulf Coast in
2005.
END VO END VO

So here's a look at the numbers.
Triple-A says the statewide average
price is 2-90 a gallon, 17 cents lower

than the national average -- and the
Roanoke region comes in at 2-80, lowest
in Virginia.
