GRAPHIC=Shooting A Pittsylvania County man is
wanted for a shooting in Danville last
night.
Police found a 28-year-old victim
shot in the left hand and left thigh at
around 9:15 in the 800 block of Arnett
Blvd.
He was taken to the hospital and
is listed in stable condition.
Police say 32-year-old Antonio
Tanner is wanted in connection with the
crime.
He is charged with one count of
malicious wounding and one count of use
of a firearm in commission of a felony.

held its departure ceremony in South
Boston, where mothers like Janice Clay
shed many tears.
She is a mom of five and has not one
but two sons serving in the Virginia
National Guard who are both heading off
to war.

President Bush, spent yesterday in
Jamestown to celebrate the mother of
America.

permanent English settlement in

Bush spoke to an estimated crowd

chow, is no ordinary dog.
She's a seizure alert dog, in
training to let 13- year- old Brandon
Saliba's (suh-LEE-buh's), family now
when he goes into a seizure.
The chow escaped last Sunday
through a storm door that was left
open, but as it turns out, she never
wandered too far off- she was at a
neighborhood school.

class at Randolph-Macon Woman's College
picked up their diplomas yesterday.
Next fall, the first male
students in the college's 112-year
history will arrive on campus.
The school's decision last fall
to go co-ed led to weeks of protests,

specialized training in earth sciences.
The New College Institute, the
Virginia Museum of Natural History and
Radford University are partnering to
create the program.
Teachers will be able to take
special courses in earth science.
The director at the Institute
believes the program will very likely
create the best prepared earth science
teachers in the state.
