He actually lost consciousness for
several minutes after going into

Later that year, doctors did find a
70-percent blockage in an artery, and
stents were put in to open it up.

After his brush with death, Falwell
did make several lifestyle changes.

He cut his work schedule in half, began
eating more healthy, and walking more.

But despite his efforts, his doctors
believe he passed away yesterday from

Kimberly, there are several myths
about tornadoes, one of the more
prevelant ones is that areas near
lakes, rivers, and mountains are safe
from them.

ENG#=1 VO NAT

VO NAT One just needs to be reminded of
the rash of twisters that developed
throughout Virginia during Hurricane
Ivan in 2002 to prove that false.

In fact, over 60 touched down,
many in our area, causing tremendous
damage.

Tornadoes can... and have... hit
in this region and that's why the

experts say everyone should have a
weather radio in their home...
especially those living in mobile
homes.

In addition to the radio,
everyone should have a plan in place of
where they'll go and actually practice
the routine.

Twisters like the one that
recently leveled parts of Kansas drive
home the impact that tornadic activity
can have on a community... in this case
completely wiping it out.

There are several myths about
tornadoes, one of the more prevelant
ones is that areas near lakes, rivers,
and mountains are safe from them.

One just needs to be reminded of
the rash of twisters that developed
throughout Virginia during Hurricane
Ivan in 2002 to prove that false.

Because of the design and
relative light weight of the
structures, those living in mobile
homes need to be especially cautionous
and stay up-to-date on the lastest when

storms develop.
