Jerry Falwell was pronounced dead, his
church and his university communities
are still reeling from the news.

Falwell died yesterday afternoon from

heart related complications.

Now the next few days will be spent
preparing for both his funeral and
Liberty University's graduation this
weekend.

murdered Amherst County man was found.

Drive was found shot to death last
Tuesday on Route 130 in the Snowden
area of Amherst County.

This picture is older -- at the
time of his death, Jamerson was heavier
set, with longer hair and a beard.

wildfires in Georgia and Florida--

Now fire crews are battling a blaze
north of Atlantic City that's scorched
nearly 20 square miles of brush and
pine forest.

So far, the fire has destroyed three
homes.

Police say around 700 residents are
now staying in shelters.

Officials believe the fire started when
a National Guard fighter plane dropped
a flare.

The blaze began on a military bombing
range in southern New Jersey and

quickly spread into a massive
out-of-control wildfire. Hundreds
were

forced to evacuate and with the flames
moving fast�some had little time

to spare.

In just a day, some 20 square miles
have been scorched�including a

number of homes.

Nature puts it out with a really

Forecasters say there is a chance of
thunderstorms this afternoon, but

gusty winds are also expected to fan
the flames.

In the meantime, crews are working to
build containment lines and are

setting backfires to burn out areas
ahead of the blaze.

Might have been a flare that came from
a military aircraft on a routine

training mission in Warren Grove. The
flare for whatever reason made

contact with the ground and started the
fire.�

Just like Florida and California�
weather conditions are making it easy

for fires the start this spring.

We had temperatures in the high 80�s,
humidity under 30 percent and we

had sustained winds over 20 miles per
hour.�

So far, no deaths or injuries have been
attributed to the New Jersey

fire, but firefighters are faced with a
huge challenge to get it under

control.

race team got busted yesterday after
his Bud Chevy failed inspection last
weekend at Darlington.

Junior's team was docked 100
points, and his owner Teresa Earnhardt
was docked 100 owner's points, after
NASCAR found that the mounts that hold

the rear wing on the Car of Tomorrow
were illegal.

Crew chief Tony Eury, Junior was
fined $100,000 as well, and was
suspended for six weeks by NASCAR.

Eury says it was an honest
mistake.

He has never had a major
infraction during his seven years as a
Cup crew chief.

He has maintained the problem
with the wing was not intentional, and
the brackets were an old set that had
been used during a test session.
