this event had teams scrambling in
practice and time trials.
In qualifying for the Nextel Open
- Michael Waltrip - who has been a
train wreck this season tore up
hisToyota by backing it into the
outside wall on his warm-up lap.
The problems weren't just limited
to the Camrys as Mark Martin had
trouble keeping the US Army Chevy under
control coming out of the pits.
Eventually, Carl Edwards won the pole
for the open.
In the main qualifying - Matt
Kenseth and his team had no problems as
they solve the three laps and pit stop
format to win the pole for tomorrow's
night Nextel all-star challenge.
Here's a look at the starting
grid.
