a Radford woman.

Some students on their way to
Hidden Valley High School got a scare
this morning when their bus was hit by
a car.
Police say a car ran a red
light at the intersection of Apperson
and 419 and hit Roanoke County Bus 15.
The bus then hit a sign and a van.
One child was taken to Lewis
Gale Medical Center. One person from
one of the other vehicles was also
taken to Lewis Gale. Their injuries
were described as minor.
Police say charges are pending.

in Durham, North Carolina, just her 2nd
appearance in such an event.
Thompson is a home schooled 6th grader
from Coral Springs, Florida. Just 12
years old, she is headed to sectional
qualifying for the US Women's Open next
month, hoping to break Morgan Pressel's
record for the youngest player to make
the field. Thompson is competing in
the 15-18 year old division at this
week's Robertson, but hasn't batted an
eye.

Thompson struggled to a 79 in her first
ever round at the Robertson, but she'll
likely have several more chances down
the road.
The same cannot be said for
Salem's Aaron Eckstein. Eckstein is
bound for Virginia Tech next season
along with Fincastle's Marshall Bailey.
In his final crack at a Scott
Robertson trophy, Eckstein opened with
a 74.

Three baseball tournament.

decision to Emory today.
The top seed out of Atlanta used
two big four run innings to get the
