crash in Rocky Mount this afternoon.

It happened sometime before three
o'clock at the intersection of Grassy
Hill and Summit Roads.
State Police say a ford mustang
was headed westbound, lost control,
crossed over into the eastbound lanes,
side swiped another car, then struck
several trees before overturning.
One of the passengers -- 16 year
old Bryan Patrick White Junior of
Boones Mill, died in the accident.
He was not wearing his seat belt.
The accident is still under
investigation.
No word on the other passengers'
conditions.

49-year-old Charles E. Robertson was
headed north on a motorcycle around
6:15. He hit a guard rail between the
Wonju Street and Franklin Road exits.
Robertson was thrown from

spread rocky mountain spotted fever to
humans.
They have to be attached at least
four to six hours to transmit the
disease. That's why if you come in from
outdoors it's important to check for
them.

mountain spotted fever include a rash,

muscle aches, and other flu-like

Three national tournament wrapped at
the Moyer Complex.

And his death after a courageous
battle with Cancer led to the formation
of a tournament and Scholarship fund in
his name.

prestigious Scholarship was announced
today. Ben Anderson from William Byrd
received the 20 Thousand Dollar check
to help pay for his College Education
at the University of Virginia.
Anderson is ranked at the top of
his class as a student and he has

Years. He has been teeing it up since
the age of 5.

all positive - but NASCAR has decided
to go with the Car of
Tomorrow exclusively starting next
season - and that's a year earlier than
planned.

This Season The C-O-T was scheduled to run
16 races this season, and then be
phased into competition over the next
two years. But maintaining two
different cars has turned out to be not
only a pain, but also extremely
expensive.
The Car of Tomorrow is supposed
to be safer, less expensive and make
racing better.
So far, it hasn;t worked out that
way. The Car of Tomorrow has been used
in five events this all won by drivers
from Hendrick Motorsports. The next
C-O-T race is June third in Dover,
Delaware.

to Catawba College in Salisbury, North
Carolina. Bell is a native of
Fayetteville and the rising junior
would have been battling for playing
time behind starter Branden Ore.
Bell informed head coach Frank
Beamer and the Tech coaching his desire
to search for extended playing time and
the truth is time is running out for
him.
Bell played in just four games
last season, scoring two touchdowns and
rushing for 107 yards.
