motorcycle accident last night.

Charles E. Robertson of Goodview was
killed when his motorcycle hit a
guardrail.
The accident happened in the
northbound lanes of Route 220 between

Doug Grabowski vanished from
Southwest Roanoke County two years ago.
Roanoke County Police as well as
State Police spent the morning combing
the waters for Grabowski's 19-77 faded
black Ford pick-up truck which also
disappeared the same time as the
35-year-old.
The crews searched two areas just
off Nicholas Lane which is on the
Bedford County side using sonar
equipment.
Authorities would not comment on
the case other than to say their search
was unsuccessful.

It started with an armed robbery of
a B-P station-- police say the car
reached speeds up to 130 miles, weaved

in a shootoit where I-40 and 440
intersect.
Raleigh police say shots were
fired and the suspect was taken to the
hospital... No officers were hurt.

star tick is found predominantly east
of the blue ridge mountains in places
such as Lynchburg and Amherst.
The American dog tick is the most
common tick found in Roanoke.
While these types of ticks don't
spread lyme disease --they can spread
rocky mountain spotted fever.

in three area rivers.

Fish were collected today from
the James, Cowpasture and Shenandoah
rivers and shipped off to be analyzed
by scientists.
The diseased fish still behave
normally, but have skin lesions.
Scientist have no idea how or why
the fish are becoming infected.
Diseased species include
smallmouth bass, rock bass and
redbreast sunfish.
Fish kills have been a recurring
problem -- killing up to 80 percent of
fish in the Shenandoah river last year.

VO-NAT Abdul broke her nose over the weekend
when she fell while trying to avoid
stepping on her Chihuahua.
Abdul's publicist says the judge is a
little sore, but is doing fine. Abdul
says she she tore cartilage on her
nose, fractured her toe and bruised her
arm and chest all because of her dog

The dog was not hurt.
